New Hampshire has a variety of wildlife, including the Peregrine Falcon, Northern flying squirrel, Snowshoe Hare, and White-tailed deer. Susan Lichty, from Lempster, New Hampshire, saw – wait for it – an albino porcupine! At first, Susan thought it was a white cat, but upon closer inspection, she realized her error!
In the video, we see the rare animal having a snack of grass and leaves. According to wideopenspaces.com, the chances of being an albino porcupine are 1 in 10,000! Albinism is caused by a lack of melanin, the dark brown to black pigment that gives your skin, hair, and eyes their color. It is a genetic condition that results in light colored hair and skin.
